But here's one anyway!
Over this Christmas break we traveled to AZ to visit the wife's parents. Had a fun time, got to see the Grand Canyon and Bryce National Parks and lots of other local things.
When we got back I decided it was time to play tractors a bit. So, I started on the JD L110A that my cousin gave us. I dismantled it to diagnose a no-start condition. Turned out the brake safety switch was broken off. That was caused by someone bending the actuator arm on the system, most likely from yanking on the foot pedal when the brake was on. Anyway, I got it straightened out and installed a new switch. I also had to remove a bunch of built up crud from the transmission cooling fins and underside of the frame. Several other small parts where way beyond their service limits, so I ended up doing a minor overhaul on most everything except the engine. As of now the tractor is back up and running, but the deck is still being reconditioned. Wifey decided she wants a pink JD, so the deck (and at some point the wheels) are going to be pink.

The fenders where pretty rusty underneath the floorboards, so cleaned 'em up real good and just painted the whole thing, top and bottom.

And the deck
Here's a tip folks: DON'T wash it. Use compressed air to blow it off. This was before using any sort of rust removal (wire brush, scraper etc). Just using compressed air, the paint was coming off in great big chunks with pretty serious corrosion underneath what looked like decent paint. I had to basically remove almost all the OE paint, apply a rust convertor and am in the process of priming and painting the shell now.

I also had a chance to work on the old Farmall H. She's usually a very reliable old gal. I was getting things set up to haul grain, and this one is the go to tractor for running the auger. Well, she didn't want to start. So I had Christine help me drag it over to the shop, then we pushed it into the shop and I tore down the carb. Found the previous person that was in there liked using orange RTV silicone. NOT a good thing to use in a carb. Once I got everything cleaned out she fired right up!. I also did a bit of wiring work, as the kill switch was inop. Considering the original wiring is over 60 yrs old, it was probably time for that little upgrade. Anyhoo, here's some pics of that one:
